Help Us Grow a Tradition

A living Christmas tree for Foster, planted at Route 6 & Route 94 and lit every holiday season.

From one tree a year to one tree for good

Every holiday season, South Foster Fire puts up our giant Christmas tree at the corner of Route 6 and Route 94. For many of our neighbors, seeing it lit is when the holidays really start.

A few weeks ago we asked the community to help us find a tree to donate. Thank you to everyone who reached out, sent photos, and shared the post — it showed us how much this tradition means to Foster.

While we were searching, we came up with a better idea. Instead of cutting down a new tree every year, we found a beautiful spruce that we can buy and transplant right at the corner. It will stay rooted there for good, grow taller every year, and be lit every Christmas season for generations.

The spruce tree that will be transplanted to Route 6 and Route 94, standing in a field under a blue sky.

Our goal: $5,000

Your donation will help cover:

  • The tree — buying the spruce
  • The move — heavy equipment to dig, transport, and plant it at the corner
  • Its first years — care while it puts down strong roots
  • The lights — so it shines every December

Every gift makes a difference, big or small, and donors will be recognized for their gift to the community. Years from now, you’ll be able to say you helped plant the town tree.
